One of the ways we can pray is to find a physical space that offers us Holy Ground. This is unique to every person: your holy ground may be in your garden, your bedroom, a favorite chair, a walk or run through your favorite park, a place that holds memory for you, or even on the playground with your children. Any space can become our Holy Ground.
Once you have found your physical space, take a moment to really sink in to this place. Feel the textures, look at the colors, listen for the sounds in the environment around you. Take a moment to invite this space to be Holy Ground in this present moment. Wherever we are, God is there with us. Invite this space to be Holy Ground, to become aware of God’s presence in your life, and in this space.
You can say a prayer, if you like, or simply be still.
O God of peace, who hast taught us that in returning and
rest we shall be saved, in quietness and confidence shall be
our strength: By the might of thy Spirit lift us, we pray thee,
to thy presence, where we may be still and know that thou
art God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.–Book of Common Prayer
Know that God is with you, and you are on Holy Ground.
