Candles are a part of worship in so many sacred faith communities, including our own. Today, you can practice this prayer of lighting a candle virtually. This international, interfaith site provides a step-by-step prayer practice for lighting a candle. You can light a candle of gratitude, remembrance, as a prayer for a specific person, or for any reason that you choose. Your candles will remain lit for a full 48 hours. At the end of the exercise, you will be able to share your candle with others as well if you like, creating a virtual light of our prayers during our Lenten journey:

I am lighting a virtual candle with my prayers of gratitude for all who are participating in this “cultivating sacred space” journey with me…
